Teen clothing and fashion

Love fashion and style? Its difficult these days to stay on top of the latest trends in teen fashion when the styles change almost monthly.

Do you remember the time when you were a teenager and how important style was for you? After all, being a teenager means that your friends are vital in your life and though some people may try to deny it, their opinions do matter. It is a time where you are beginning to express your own personality and one of the most effective forms of self-expression is through your clothes. Teen Fashion is a huge part of the fashion industry and there are so many choices when it comes to teen fashion.

Picking a specific style of teen fashion is nearly impossible. After all, there are so many different styles of clothing out there that can be used to reflect different styles of personality. To understand teen fashion, you have to understand teen subcultures. For people who love indie music and punk music, you will find that emo fashion is one of the most popular fashion styles there is. Hooded sweatshirts, tight jeans, and skateboard shoes are just some of the most popular teen fashion styles out there.

However, many people find that emo fashion is too mainstream. After that Avril Lavigne sk8er boi song, many teenagers find that emo skateboarding look to be a bit passé. Many teenagers find their rebellion through the punk scene or the goth scene. There are many teen fashion clothes that fit into these styles. From studded leather jackets to morose trench coats, you can find those perfect clothes that suit your personality.

Fashion and Teenagers

The Teenage Years represent the transition period into adulthood. Teens start to develop their independence and unique opinions about life’s issues. The fashion trend has changed quite a bit from the days when Indians set up tents in the United States of America. When it comes to shopping, teens like to choose their own clothes and fashions at this time of their life. Sometimes teens and parents agree which clothes to purchase, sometimes they disagree.

Teenage years may be called "Acne Years". These years can turn into nightmares which many times continue into adulthood. Many products are available without bringing the desired results. We have the products that will eliminate these nightmares.

Helpful in developing identity

Some teen fashion statements are going to be crazy but they might be bearable. If you come upon something that actually covers them, make sure you give them a good eye roll. That might encourage them to wear that style. You might think it looks funny, but at least they are covered. That should be your main concern. You can lay down the law when you see teen fashion that seems to be too revealing, but you may be encouraging them in that direction.

Fabulous Fashions at the Carousel of Hope

Beverly Hills, Calif. – At socialite Barbara Davis’ charity extravaganza called the Carousel of Hope, it is supposed to be all about the fight to eradicate childhood diabetes, with millions raised in support of the Children’s Diabetes Foundation. And it truly is, with the focus of the party on spotlighting that insidious disease. But as any woman who has ever attended the spectacular biennial event knows, the night is truly all about the clothes. That was especially true on Saturday evening, Oct. 25, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where gorgeous women in glamorous gowns sashayed through the massive silent auction, then swept into the filled-to-the-rafters ballroom for the main event.

Sure, there were some extremely handsome and dapper men in the celebrity-filled crowd, including honoree Denzel Washington, presenter Sidney Poitier, teen heartthrobs Nick, Kevin, and Joe Jonas, sports legend Magic Johnson, actors Harry Hamlin, George Hamilton, and especially Henry Simmons, whose custom-made Woody Wilson tux fit him to perfection, but it really was all about the women.

Ballgowns were de rigueur, although some went short, like Geena Davis, who paired a black Marc Jacobs minidress with Bulgari diamond drop earrings and Christian Louboutin thigh-high black boots that lent a bit of the dominatrix feel to the look, prompting her husband, Dr. Reza Jarrahy, to quip, "That’s the way I like it in our house!" Nicky Hilton and Bo Derek went with short and black, too, as did Sharon Lawrence, whose Carmen Marc Valvo dress featured a lace bodice and a full skirt.

Why Aren’t You Dressing for Your Body Type ?

While it is important to feel good in your clothes, you should never dress for comfort or fashion alone.

If you ignore the body type you see in the mirror or distort it in your mind, very negative things are going to happen for you.

You will not look your best. You will be fully and consciously aware of this and therefore your moods are going to plummet to the darkest depths.

You will waste an inordinate amount of time on hunting fruitlessly for fashion that fits and looks fab. All fashions cannot look good on all people, not only when you are overweight.

Some fashions are downright ugly. They look terrible even on the professional models that are selected to promote them.

Often we want what the models and celebrities are wearing because we are convinced by expert marketing consultants that we want these things.

We are bombarded with messages both subtle and overt that every new fashion will make us happy, popular, beautiful, youthful, rich, slim…

We have to stop thinking "fashion" and start thinking "style". Find the styles that suit you and only wear them in colors and patterns that work for you.

Once we are prepared to admit that we have a particular body type, we are on the way to dressing for it. If we get it right, even when we are well overweight, we can still look good. So you can be dressing for your body type you have to know what not to wear. The right choice of clothes can slim down your body, create a positive body image and lift your mood. Do not ever dress in clothes that are the fashion of the day unless that fashion happens to coincide with body shape wear that suits you.

The Rising Demand For Easy-Care Clothing

Today’s world is a busy world. Every one is busy with something or the other. Lifestyles of people all over the world are becoming more and more active. In this frenzied world, people are looking for things that are as easy to use and maintain as possible. The same applies to clothing. Consumers desire ‘hassle-free’ or ‘easy-care’ clothing that would require minimum maintenance. The demand for such easy-care clothing is growing. Today’s consumer wants clothes that would perform multiple uses, that is be used at work, at parties and also for after-work activities. These clothes should be durable and easy to care for. Comfort combined with practicality is what the consumers are looking for these days.

The topmost factors desired by consumers in their clothing are a good feel, ease in wearing and caring for the fabric, durability and price. However, it has been observed that consumers are even ready to shell out a bit more money when they can get the benefit of easy care.

More and more people are demanding clothes that can be hand-washed or machine-washed rather than getting them dry cleaned, being hard pressed for time and also on account of the rising costs of dry cleaning. They desire that the clothes should not lose their fresh appearance even after a number of washes. Moreover, there is a preference for clothes that they need little or no ironing. In short, consumers are demanding for fabrics that require minimum or no caring for.

Tips To Expressing Yourself With T-Shirts

T shirts can provide a lasting impression on your life and those around you. Through simple illustrations and slogans they immediately show your current feelings or opinions.

Vintage t shirts will bring up situations from the long ago past. They can be anything from funny to rude and offensive, to sayings, to your favorite rock band of yore, to baby tees. And don’t forget putting a t shirt on your dog. Ugh.

In my own experience I have been a cancer survivor for 5 1/2 years. In my first summer my struggle inspired my sister-in-law to get active in the Tacoma, Washington Relay For Life program of the American Cancer Society. Every spring they host a weekend walk and fund raiser. A large part of that walk is the Survivor’s walk celebrating all those people currently battling cancer and those who are cancer free.

All the survivors walking in that event are given purple t shirts with the Relay For Life logo on the front. On the back is the saying: I Am… Living Breathing Inspiration. I love wearing my t shirt with that saying on it both for my own feelings and for the inspiration of those around me.

Another situation involved a camping/hiking trip my partner and I took several years ago in the Columbia River gorge near The Dalles, Oregon.

Colours In Your Life

Whether we accept it or not, the way we dress communicates something about us. Colours affect movement of our lives although most of the time colour choices are done unconsciously. We all have a favourite colour and often wear clothes of that colour. However, these colours are linked to our personality type, our strengths and weaknesses, as well as indicating our potential in life.

Here, we informed you on the significance of colours in fabrics and the clothes which we wear and you can learn what your favourite colour actually tells about your personality.

Often, in some cultures, we have certain beliefs on colour superstition. People believe that certain colours bring bad luck while some colours bring good luck. Many people also believe that there are appropriate colours for particular occasions. For example, the Chinese consider it bad luck to wear black on the first day of the Lunar Year as black symbolises death and should never be worn on such occasion.

Colours in your clothes

If you wear red

Red increases energy and is known to be the power color. You are very much impulsive, excitable and energetic. You are highly ambitious and want things to happen quickly when you want them to do so. You want to be the best in everything you do. You may be a little insensitive to the feelings of the other people, since you like to be the centre of attraction.

Learn to be a good listener. Red means vital force, with your nervous activity urging you to achieve results and be successful. If you make a habit of wearing red it may indicate you place importance on sexual desire and eroticism. This energy can be best used in the form of creative endeavor, leadership development and expansion.

You are courageous and extroverted, but tend to become irritable and ill tempered if you do not get your own way. Learn to be patient. Maroon and brick reds show you are fun loving, but be careful not to become resentful and feel victimised by the others.

If you wear pink

Pink is the sign of sensitivity and love. You have an affectionate, loving nature, which makes you sympathetic and understanding. You may lack willpower and show weakness when you are unable to control affairs of the heart.

You need a great deal of support from others and can sometimes behave like a child. You should learn to accept and love yourself. If you become more self-reliant you will attract and give out the feelings of warmth and love you desire.

If you wear orange, peach or apricot

Orange is the significance of stimulation. You are competent, self-oriented and impatient. You are also independent, an organizer and self-motivated. Orange is the colour of practicality and creativity. Your energy levels are high, and you are sometimes restless. You have a forceful will and tend to be active and competitive. You are also excitable and can seek domination over the others.

Bright orange and burnt orange can make you feel frustrated and blocked. Try wearing peach, which will direct your energy to the others in a more caring way.

If you wear yellow

Yellow is the significance of energy. You have an interesting and stimulating personality. You like to be active and involved in whatever is going on. Lively and vital, you can cope well with life’s challenges.

Bright yellow represents spontaneity and communication. You are active, inspiring and like to investigate. There is a desire and hope of greater happiness, which implies some minor conflict in which release is needed. Yellow presses forward to the new, modern, the developing and uniformed, and drawn in ideas from the" higher mind".

Keeping Up with Trends in Girls Fashion

One of the most important things to girls is fashion, particularly if a girl is in her teens and going to college where the majority of people talks and wears the latest trends and styles everyday. Here are some suggestions and tips on girls fashion, which will help you to stay up with the fashion trend throughout the year.

The majority of designers will take out at least two collections per year, spring and fall, while the rest will introduce four; spring, summer, fall and winter. With numerous different styles and unique designs for boys, girl, men and women you will notice that first and foremost it is very challenging to stay up with every seasonal trend for one primary reason; all styles do not work for everyone.

How many times have you watched a fashion show and thought; who can wear that dress besides a model. The reality of this is that some of those styles that are shown are made specifically for modeling purposes only and the entire selection is slightly different than what you actually see on the runway. Nevertheless, the number one most important rule is to wear clothes that suit your weight, height, character and personality.

Tips on Organizing Your Wardrobe

Clearing out your wardrobe can be a grueling task but you know it’s long overdue and no one else is going to volunteer for the role. It’s one of those items on the ‘to do’ list that never actually gets done until you lose a favourite item of clothing amongst the clutter.

So, here are some stress free tips on organising your wardrobe. Professional wardrobe consultants exist, what an awful job, but with these tips you shouldn’t need one.

Objectivity goes out the window and irrational behaviour takes over when it comes to sorting out clothes. We know we will never wear some of the garments we keep hold off but we just can’t seem to part with them. I suggest roping a friend, the one who tells it like it is, to help you discard the clothes that are simply wrong.

The best method is to separate the clothes into 3 piles. These consist of the keep pile - clothes that fit well, are not worn out and are worn frequently. The maybe pile includes clothes that you don’t wear very often or clothes that never seem to go out of style.

The last pile is the goodbye pile. As you are probably aware, this consists of clothes that are ill fitting, old or those that make your friend say ‘what possessed you to buy that’? After you have your 3 mountains of clothes, you should return to the maybe pile and consider the items on that pile again.
