Eco-couture

Fashionistas with a conscience need look no further. Cancer Research UK has joined forces with eco-couture designers reVamp to launch an exclusive collection of trend-conscious garments and accessories recycled from stock donated to Cancer Research UK shops.

reVamp’s collection which goes on sale in May 2008, showcases the best in established and emerging design talent from across the UK. From bang-on-trend floral print dresses to full skirts, ruffles and accessories inspired by the medieval world and haute couture, each item has been carefully handcrafted using existing materials to create truly unique statement pieces.

reVamp’s founder Jen Ruppert said: “We are really keen to highlight the benefits of reclaimed and vintage fashion through our new partnership with Cancer Research UK. We aim to help lessen some of the environmental impact created by the fashion industry by sourcing existing materials to create our designs.”

Fernando Viani, designer said: “Through this initiative, not only are we helping up-and-coming designers to get a presence on the high street but we are restoring life and beauty into old stock whilst also raising money for Cancer Research UK. This is creating fashion with a conscience.”
